There’s a monthly subscription cost, and it can take a little time to learn if you’re new to bookkeeping. The biggest risk is usually incorrect setup or transaction coding rather than Xero itself. Yes. Xero provides HMRC-recognised software for Making Tax Digital, including submitting VAT returns digitally to HMRC. We can help make sure your Xero account is set up correctly, your records are accurate, and the right information is ready for HMRC when required.

We use Xero with our clients because it helps us work together efficiently while giving business owners a clearer picture of their finances.
Both are established accounting platforms, but we prefer Xero for the small businesses we work with. It’s user-friendly, works well for collaborating with your accountant, connects with a wide range of business apps and gives you a clear view of your finances. QuickBooks may suit some businesses, but if you’re looking for straightforward cloud accounting with strong support from your accountant, Xero is our preferred choice.
